The Environmental Studies Program and Center for Bioethics invite applications
for the position of Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow. ÊThe appointment will be
for one year beginning September 1, 2009, renewable annually for a maximum of
three years, pending administrative and budgetary approval. ÊThe successful
applicant will contribute to the education of undergraduate environmental
studies majors and masters degree students in bioethics, teaching three courses
per year, including an undergraduate course in Ethics and the Environment and a
graduate Advanced Introduction to Environmental Ethics. ÊIn addition the
successful candidate will actively participate in the life of two rapidly
developing programs. ÊIn addition to bioethics and environmental ethics, we
welcome candidates with training in such areas as ethics, political philosophy,
and philosophy of biology who have strong or emerging teaching and research
interests in bioethics broadly construed.Ê
Applicants must either expect to receive their Ph.D. by Fall 2009 or have
received it within five years of that date. ÊWe especially urge minority and
