Graduate Study Opportunities at the Sydney Centre for the Foundations of
Science

The Sydney Centre for the Foundations of Science is the University of
Sydney's new interdisciplinary research centre, established to foster
collaborations between humanities researchers and scientists. The centre
was officially opened on 31st July 2008. Further information will
available following the opening at:

The Departments of Philosophy and History and the Unit for the History and
Philosophy of Science at the University of Sydney contain by far
Australia's largest concentration of scholars in the history and
philosophy of science and medicine. The Sydney Centre for the Foundations
of Science brings this outstanding group of scholars together and is an
ideal location for graduate study at the intersection of science and the
humanities.

Members of the Department of Philosophy and the Sydney Centre for the
Foundations of Science hold major research grants in the areas of
philosophy of biology, decision theory, philosophy of language, and
philosophy of physics. Extra funding of up to $7000 per annum (tax free)
on top of the usual PhD Scholarships is available for selected students
working on suitable projects in these areas. Potential students should
contact a staff member with relevant interests:
