Postdoctoral Research Fellowships 2004-2005

The Institute for Philosophical Research of the National Autonomous University of Mexico offers

two postdoctoral research fellow appointments.

Postdoctoral research fellows are expected to a) carry out their proposed research, and publish some of its results; b) participate in the academic activities of the Institute, as well as in group research projects; c) supervise the work of undergraduates and graduates, and teach a course. Knowledge of Spanish is not required, but successful non-Spanish speaking applicants will be expected to learn the language during their stay.

Starting date: September 2004 (modifiable by mutual agreement)
Duration: one year, with a possible six-month extension.
Requirements: PhD in Philosophy no earlier than September 2001, and no later than September 2004.
Salary: $1,200 us/dls. per month (two-bedroom apartments near campus are approximately $450 per month)

• The research project must include
• a statement of general research interests,
• an outline of the proposed research
• expected publications.

Note 2: This is the ninth annual call for the postdoctoral fellowship program of the Institute for Philosophical Reseach. Our postdoctoral fellows have held PhDs from the universities of Alicante, Berkeley, Brown, London, Melbourne, Oxford, Princeton and Sheffield.
