Philosophy of Biology - Postgrad Workshop
New issues in philosophy of biology Ð new perspectives for philosophy of science

24th-28th May, 2005 

Egenis, the E.S.R.C. Centre for Genomics in Society is running a postgraduate
workshop in the Philosophy of Biology on May 24th-28th 2005. Travel costs, both
from within the UK and abroad, and accommodation costs, will be covered by the
organizers. However, only applications received before February 28, 2005, will
be given full consideration for funding.

The teachers in the workshop are Prof. John Dupre, Dr Staffan Mueller-Wille,
Prof. Paul Griffiths and Dr Christine Hauskeller, all academics well known in
the field of Philosophy of Biology.  The workshop will provide postgraduate
students with an opportunity for an in-depth discussion of recent literature in
the field that addresses classical topics of philosophy of science
Ñclassification, conceptual change, and causationÑ in a fresh way.
