Lecturer in History and Philosophy of Science at The University of Queensland
Experienced Lecturer to perform teaching and research across Humanities and
Science Schools
The position of Lecturer in History and Philosophy of Science is a joint
initiative between the School of History, Philosophy, Religion, and Classics and
the School of Integrative Biology. The School of History, Philosophy, Religion,
and Classics is situated within the Faculty of Arts and the philosophy program
has particular strengths in the philosophy of biology, an area in which we are
ranked alongside some of the worldÕs leading philosophy departments, in logic
and general philosophy of science, and also in ethics and continental
philosophy.
The School of Integrative Biology at the University of Queensland is situated
within the Faculty of Biological and Chemical Sciences and provides unique
opportunities for study or research in plant and animal biology with research
programs spanning ecology, molecular plant sciences, marine biology, insects and
parasite interactions, and genetics & evolution.
In the role of Lecturer in History and Philosophy of Science you will be
expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise
postgraduate research students, as well as perform research, administrative
duties and other activities associated with both Schools.
You should possess a PhD in History or Philosophy of Science, together with
demonstrated teaching experience.
This is a continuing, full-time appointment at Academic Level B. Remuneration
will be in the range of $73,432 to $87,200 per annum which includes employer
superannuation contributions of 17% of salary.
