Bioethics is an inherently interdisciplinary field, and the University of

teaching of the program is shared between the Centre for Values, Ethics and the
Law in Medicine (VELIM) and the Unit for History and Philosophy of Science
(HPS). All units of study include historical elements, and HPS perspectives are
emphasised throughout the curriculum.

Almost all units of study offered through the program “stand-alone” and so may
be taken one at a time by external students or students enrolled in other degree
programs. For more information visit the program website at:

Selgelid by email at bioethics@science.usyd.edu.au or by phone at (02) 9351 7652.
