Lecturer B in Philosophy
The Cardiff School of English, Communication and Philosophy is seeking to
appoint a scholar with a proven track record of research and teaching in the
Philosophy of Science to a permanent lectureship. Applicants with expertise in
the Philosophy of Biology and of Genetics are especially welcome. The person
appointed, who will hold a PhD in Philosophy, is expected to make a full
contribution to the RAE and to the School's research mission, in particular to
the growing development of research at Cardiff on the ethical, cultural and
philosophical implications of Genetics and Genomics. Teaching duties will
include all years of the undergraduate programmes in Philosophy, and there will
be opportunities to contribute to postgraduate teaching in a broad range of
areas in Philosophy and to supervise doctoral students. The appointee is also
expected to share administrative responsibilities with other academic members of
staff in the section.
Salary Range: £28,829 - £36,959 (Grade 7)
