Salary from circa £29,100 to circa £31,800pa.
The ESRC Centre for Genomics in Society (Egenis) has received funding from the
ESRC for a second five-year term, starting in October 2007. Research vacancies
are currently available from that date. We seek to appoint a Researcher Fellow
for five years to contribute to the development and implementation of the Egenis
portfolio of work on the governance of human genomics. This includes work on
national and international regulation of trade, clinical practice, and
surveillance. The successful applicant will be expected to play a central role
in developing this area of research at Egenis within the context of a research
strategy agreed with the ESRC. This should include contributing to grant
proposals for subsidiary funding and supervision of doctoral students. These
roles carry the possibility of a permanent continuing position in the Department
of Sociology and Philosophy at the end of the initial five years, subject to
further funding. Relevant postdoctoral experience is required.
Salary in the above range is dependant upon experience and current salary.
