Stony Brook University is pleased to announce a special outreach and
scholarly event to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the publication
of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species in 1859.

The scholarly meeting will feature more than twenty invited speakers
from every field of evolutionary biology and allied disciplines, with
a structure that will facilitate as much as possible the open
discussion of scientific and intellectual issues surrounding
evolution.

The outreach events are being organized in collaboration with the
American Museum of Natural History and will include public lectures as
well as teachers' workshops.

Historians and philosophers of science will be featured among the
invited speakers, and we encourage the philosophical community to
participate to the event.
