The Ecology Program at Federal University of Bahia (Salvador, Brazil) is
selecting research fellows. We seek to fill three Post Doctoral positions in
the area of:

(A) Epistemology applied to Ecology

(B) Statistical analyses applied to ecology or Ecological Modeling

(C) Landscape ecology or restoration ecology or conservation ecology

The position is associated with the newly-created PhD program in Ecology at
Federal University of Bahia. The successful candidate will be expected to
participate and interact with a great variety of ecological projects and
broaden the existing expertise and interactions within the Ecology Program.

We seek a highly motivated and dynamic researcher with experience in areas
described above. The person will join one of the top ecology research groups
in Northeast Brazil (http://www.ecologia.ufba.br/)
within a diverse institute that also includes research groups in zoology and
genetics. The successful applicant is expected to interact closely with the
members of the ecology research group, to participate in graduate training
by serving on Master's and Doctoral advisory committees and advise students
in research areas. The researcher is also expected to teach graduate courses
in the highly innovative problem-based learning program in Ecology, with the
opportunity to give courses in the areas of modeling/statistics and/or
landscape ecology.

The candidates should be selected until November 21, but the grant can begin a little later, until April 2010.

intent detailing current research and teaching interests as well as future
