2026 Off-Year Workshops: Call for proposals
Off-year workshops are since 2004 a series of smaller settings for the ISHPSSB community to meet, with diverse topics and themes. This cycle we are especially encouraging add-on workshops, which meet adjacent to or incorporated with other meetings of cognate societies. The deadline for funded proposals is November 5, 2025.

Off-Year Workshop — The Human Diversity Dilemma: Navigating the intersection of microbes, ethics and society in Africa (Oct 2025, Cape Town, SA)
The first off-year workshop of this cycle (and first ISHPSSB event in Africa) will take place October 1–3, 2025 at Stellenbosch University (Cape Town, South Africa). Abstracts are due already on August 18.
2025 Hull Prize citation for Polly Winsor
Polly Winsor was awarded the David Hull medal at the Porto 2025 meeting, for a lifetime of wide-ranging research of the highest quality.
