Established in 2025, the ISHPSSB Community Award recognizes and honors a member of ISHPSSB who has played an outstanding role in supporting, managing, or building our organization, or in fostering a spirit of community. Contributions may include editorial work, organizational work, and any other communications, governance, or organizational roles not overlapping with domains of awards usually given in the organization and who are not paid employees.
Administration of the award is by the Executive Committee. It vets nominees, selects award recipients, and administers all other aspects of the award. Only one award is given biennially and only when appropriate nominations are received. Awards are subject to council approval. The president has the responsibility of providing a customized and signed certificate on behalf of the society, awarded at the biennial conference. Nominations may be made by a brief letter (no longer than one page) by any member of the society at any time, but before February of a meeting year, and should be sent as an email attachment with the subject line “ISHPSSB Community Award” to the President of the organization.
